eleven.

eleven hides amongst the hustle of moving, settling, working, selling, living, and loving.

eleven is certainly no ten. ten was a heavy burden. a mountain, i so desperately needed to cross.

eleven is like starting over. a new decade. a new beginning. eleven so carefully falls along side of a brand new marriage. a new house. a new home.

6/3/03 forever reminds me that i have seen a darkness that is darker than dark. that through a lot of fighting, losing, leaning, tears, time-outs, and the power of medication i can be confident standing in the light.

there are tears. there is fear. there is gratitude.

for the first time in eleven years i am not stopped in my tracks looking at a tarnished, tattered, and scarred reflection. there is peace.

an abundance of peace.

i am so very thankful for the village that works to keep my head above water. for the dreams that haven't been too big. and for this perfectly placed fresh start that has me smiling and grateful, even through occasional tears.

each and everyone of you, you know exactly who you are, i am forever indebted to you. from here to eternity

to anyone that may carry a similar burden silently and alone, my strength is not that great but i most definitely understand.

each year is a clumsy celebration but this year, i feel pretty close to 6 feet tall....and bullet proof.

"read all about it, pt iii" by emeli sande has more than one meaning for me. her voice is flawless and these lyrics are perfection, for anyone and everyone.

2014.

several changes all at once.

never much of a fan of change as a wee little she-lad or even as a young adult...or just an adult at this point, i am hyper-excited (that means really excited) about what is currently taking place.

1. i am marrying the love of my life in 7 days in an announced elopement. she will become my wife in manhattan. legally.

2. we.are.moving. for the first time i'll have an atlanta address. technically sandy springs but still we are so excited we can hardly stand it. the new house is beautiful and will be finished mid may. i am getting my man-cave at the ripe age of 29. immediate plans are coffered ceilings in the family room (per my almost-wife's request), fence the backyard, stairs off the deck, pour a patio under the deck, stall hardware for e.n.o. hammock chairs, and finish basement (hip, modern, and bad ass). we are very much looking forward to being close to the city, the airport, our friends, and other entertainment!

3. selling the current house. i most definitely became myself in this house. i grew up and found the independent adult within while inhabiting this house. that said it's the first time i was really able to be proud of who i am and the work i was doing. i'll always be proud of building this house at 24 and turning it in to a home. it's only officially been on the market for three weeks but we are getting close to a new owner.

everything will be wrapped up in the next 5 weeks.

happy and thankful that i get a second chance to dance this dance in our perfect circumstance.

spring.please.

with two weeks of snow and ice this winter, the entire city is ready for spring.

flip flops, jeep, shorts, cut-off muscle shirts, pool time, vacations, berries, and even sunscreen.

so many plans!

february is coming to a close which means our days should get busier, nights will get more eventful, and pockets more padded. first couple of months of the year are notoriously known for being the "slow," season for real estate...traditional and non-traditional.

here.we.go.

you.let.me.be.

this song is by a prolific singer/songwriter who is also a fabulous musician. i have loved her for years.

this song took on a completely new life when my love was excited to share it quite a while ago. in fact, i had never paid much attention to it until i snuggled in next to her on the couch to watch this video and pay attention to every word. she is out west on business this week and (as always) heavy on my mind.

no.excuses.

i've been meaning to get back to blogging on a more regular basis. i spent some time lately playing with the layout and adding links here and there. i'm almost certain my entire social media life is all accessible from this one central location and i'm pretty happy about that.

few things:
- i've been reading...a lot.
- i love dexter. we've been watching the whole series. so good.
- my love surprised me with an iPad air for christmas and it's one of my most favorite things.
- second snowed/iced in three weeks. ready.for.spring.
- front row at the circus saturday with mom and dad. so fun as an adult.
